Translations
My work experience as an engineer in the UK, Nigeria,
Norway and Italy has given me a professional confidence with the
English language, especially technical English.
I have lived in Italy for 4 years by now, and have gained the necessary
confidence with the Italian language to be able to translate from
Italian.
I am:
- certified by ANITI Associazione
Nazionale Traduttori e Interpreti with the languages Danish,
English and French.
- registered at the local Chamber of Commerce as a translator with
the languages Italian, Danish and English.
Registration is achieved on the basis of a language
test with a native English teacher, who smiled at my Scottish accent.
They never questioned my Danish..
Ekspertise based on education and interests:
Oil and gas, technical chemistry, energy, environmental issues,
food technology, oil and wine, IT and computers, web design and
tourism.
I use Wordfast, which is a CAT software. CAT software doesn't translate
for you; but it does ease the job by keeping track of translated
segments and helping you to maintain a consistent terminology throughout
the translated document. I work faster and the client saves money.

I am able to deliver complete, functional localized copies of your
website and I may take/deliver common text formats related to OpenOffice,
MSWord, Excel and Dreamweaver and alternative formats from Access,
MySql, Photoshop, CorelDraw and Illustrator. Light text files will
always be preferred.
Price list:
About 35 euro pr. page excl. VAT (20%, but UK residents are VAT
excempt).
Minimum charge is 40 euro.
You may send me a sample page to make it easier for me to evaluate
the work involved.
I am happy to help non-profit organizations or open source projects
for free, when time allows it.
